Lincoln's First Church Talk

Last Sunday, March 6th, Lincoln gave his first talk ever in church during Primary. Primary is the LDS church's organization for kids ages 3-12. Each Sunday, kids meet with others their age in class. They are taught gospel lessons and participate in singing, scripture reading, and other activities. Among those activities are the opportunity to give short talks to the rest of the primary.

The theme Lincoln was given was: Heavenly Father speaks to us through his prophets. We helped Lincoln prepare a short 2-3 minute talk based on a story in the Book of Mormon about a prophet named Lehi and a dream he had about the Tree of Life.

Here is Lincoln's talk:

Lehi was a prophet. In a dream Lehi saw a tree and an iron rod. The dream came from Heavenly Father. If people held to the rod, then they got to the tree and were happy

President Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today. If we do what he teaches us, then we will be happy too. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Lincoln was a bit shy but did a great job giving his talk.
