Superhero Violinist
Lincoln just informed me that he would like a Spiderman violin. Apparently he wants to be a superhero concert musician.

Where Tractors Go
Yesterday there was a backhoe doing work on the road. Today it was gone and Linc said "The tractor is gone!"
"Where?" I asked.
"Back to farmer!"
"Where?" I asked.
"Back to farmer!"

New Game: Hide and Tell Me Exactly Where You Are!
Linc: Daddy I'm hiding from you!
Me: Where are you hiding?
Linc: by the couch!
Me: Ok cool!

Testimony
Today was fast and testimony meeting at church. There were a couple of kids who got up to bear their testimonies and Lincoln totally surprised me by asking to go up there. He asked Shawn to take him up there and he was pretty patient on the stand as he waited his turn.
Then he and Shawn got up and and pointed at me and said (with Shawn's help and guidance) "I love my mommy and bear my testimony and I know the church is true, I love my mommy, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Needless to say it has been a very emotional Mother's Day.
A couple of others milestones in Lincolns life:
Lincoln has been sleeping in a real big boy bed for about 2 months. I took Lincoln on a date and we picked out sheets and a comforter that matched the crib stuff. To my surprise he choose Cars sheets over Toy Story. He has been very excited about his big boy bed every night since.

Lincoln has also developed an interest in photography. He loves to take pictures. Here are a couple of his Ansel Adams impressions:

Finally just a couple of snapshots of Lincoln being cute.

First Father/Son campout
Linc and I recently went on our first annual father's and son's campout with the Mtn. Vista ward on April 23-24 at Sycamore Creek, about 30 minutes southwest of Payson, AZ. We started by going to "Donald's" for a good cheap burger to fill us up before our drive. Lincoln was pretty happy with his burger. . .and then got entirely sidetracked by his kid's meal toy.

Linc was so excited to be camping he totally forgot that part of camping is actually "sleeping". After roasting a couple of marshmallows, he told me he wanted to go to bed, which kind of surprised me. So, we got in our sleeping bags. . .and then Linc started jumping around the tent and opening and closing the windows to "see the fire". We did that for about 45 minutes and then he wanted to go back outside, so we did. We went out, roasted a few more marshmallows and finally, around 11pm, he finally told me he wanted to go back to bed. After about another 10 minutes or so of tent wrestling, he laid down and told me to leave the tent so he could fall asleep, which I did, and which he did.
We didn't freeze, in fact we were quite warm although it had gotten pretty cold. Seems like we have now perfected our layered camping bed setup which includes foam pads, an air mattress, a blanket, a sleeping bag, plus another blanket, or two, depending on the level of coldness you may be exposed to. I'm not even supposed to be telling you this!!! It's a secret!
Lincoln really likes to hike. He's always asking us to take him hiking and when we do take him hiking and we're done hiking, he gets sad and says he wants to keep hiking. Yeah, he likes hiking.

As we were hiking, Lincoln kept picking up sticks to hold as he walked, a trait he picked up from his mom. We found a really nice branch that we ended up bringing home with us. We'll carve it and bring it on any campout we go on now. We call it the . . . wait for it . . . "FatherSon Stick". We're so stinking original I can't even stand it!

One of the kids caught a lizard and showed it to Linc. It jumped on his arm and hung out there for a bit before crawling up and onto Linc's back. He thought that was so funny and we've laughed several times since then about how the lizard crawled on his back.
Camping pretty well tuckered the little guy out. Thankfully, despite his exhaustion, he was able to keep a good grip on Spiderman on the drive home, preventing the sly webslinger from escaping. Mwah ha ha ha!

Looking forward to our next camping trip, which will certainly happen sooner rather than later.

Easter
We had Easter at my Aunt Anahi's and Uncle Mike's house this year. Lincoln did a little better finding eggs than last year. Last year he would find an egg and sit and eat its contents immediately, this year, he filled his basket as fast as he could and then sat down to gorge himself.
Lincoln was playing with my dad over by the pool and was jumping around and counting the flagstones around the edge, he starting jumping faster and faster (probably a jellybean sugar rush) and lost his balanced. I turned around to check on him just as he stumbled backwards into the swimming pool. LUCKILY, my dad was right there to fish him out. I think we will start swimming lessons this year. Poor Lincoln, he got embarrassed and upset when everyone came over to see if he was okay and starting talking about it. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of Lincoln soaking wet.

Lincoln: "Daddy's Batman."
Me: Really, who are you?
Lincoln: "I'm Spiderman."
Me: "Well, if you are Spiderman, and Daddy is Batman, then who am I?"
Lincoln: "Hmm.......you're pretty."
If you haven't guessed, Lincoln's new "thing" is Spiderman, he jumps around and squirts "webs" out of his wrist just like Spiderman. I took Lincoln on a date the other night and we found a pair of Spiderman jammies, which greatly have enhanced his Spiderman moves and obsession.
Me: Goodnight, Lincoln, I love you.
Lincoln: No, Mommy, say "Goodnight SpidermanLincoln!
Me: Goodnight SpidermanLincoln.
Lincoln "Thank you"
Shawn taught Lincoln his middle name earlier this month and he goes around cheering for himself, I am ThomasLincoln Jensen....we try to explain that it is Lincoln Thomas Jensen, and that Thomas is his middle name. Lincoln's response is : I'm ThomasLincolnThomas Jensen. Now with the Spiderman kick his name is "SpidermanThomasLincolnThomas Jensen....move over John Jacob Jinglehimmer Shcmidt!
Shawn and Lincoln were in the kitchen having breakfast and Shawn burped. Lincoln said "I excuse you Daddy."
